From 22 to 30 June 2024, Aegina Island in Greece hosted an intensive training program under the uBlueTec project, focused on coastal and underwater archaeology.
Over one week, 17 participants — including master’s students, PhD candidates, and professionals — engaged in a unique blend of fieldwork, theoretical sessions, and digital courses. The program combined underwater documentation techniques, advanced digital mapping, and green skills modules, offering hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies such as photogrammetry, ROVs, autonomous surface vehicles, and geolocation systems.
Participants also explored sustainable practices and data processing using tools like QGIS and Metashape. This pilot exemplifies uBlueTec’s mission to develop an innovative European curriculum that integrates blue, green, and digital skills, preparing future experts for careers in the blue economy.
