Led by Aix-Marseille University (AMU), this pilot took place on 4 April 2025 in Aix-en-Provence as part of the uBlueTec project. Six participants analyzed the environmental impacts of recreational boat mooring and discussed planning solutions for sustainable boating practices.
The session explored how mooring activities contribute to habitat degradation and pollution, while also considering opportunities to reorganize maritime uses to reduce pressure on coastal ecosystems.
Through video analysis and group discussions, students examined different anchoring systems, governance responsibilities, and stakeholder dynamics, highlighting the need for participatory approaches to balance environmental, economic, and cultural interests.
This pilot reinforced uBlueTec’s mission to integrate scientific knowledge and practical strategies for sustainable marine management.
