On 6 November 2024, Aix-en-Provence hosted a specialized lecture under the uBlueTec project, focusing on the legal frameworks and governance of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
Twenty master’s students explored the ecological significance of MPAs and the complex socio-economic challenges surrounding their management. The session combined theoretical insights with interactive exercises, encouraging participants to analyze real-world case studies and propose adaptive strategies for conservation. By addressing national, regional, and EU regulations, the course highlighted the importance of collaborative approaches and negotiation skills in marine policy.
This pilot reinforced uBlueTec’s commitment to equipping future professionals with the knowledge and competencies needed to safeguard marine ecosystems through informed and sustainable governance.
