uBlueTec

Led by Aix-Marseille University (AMU), this course ran from October to December 2024 as part of the uBlueTec project.

Over 36 hours, six participants explored the principles and challenges of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), a key approach for sustainable planning of coastal and marine areas.

The training examined international frameworks, strategic documents, and the roles of diverse stakeholders – from public authorities and NGOs to local communities – in implementing ICZM. Through lectures and discussions with professionals, students analyzed governance models, cooperation mechanisms, and practical measures for territorializing coastal policies.

By linking theory with real-world applications, this pilot strengthened participants’ ability to design and evaluate integrated management strategies that balance ecological, social, and economic priorities.
