Associação Natureza Portugal (ANP) works in association with WWF International and continues the work that has been ongoing in the national territory since 1990 by WWF Mediterranean. ANP|WWF focuses on 6 areas in Portugal: oceans and fisheries, forests, wildlife, food, freshwater, climate, and energy, through more than 50 conservation projects and policy work.

WWF is one of the world’s largest independent non-governmental nature conservation organization, with more than 5 million members globally and active offices in more than 120 countries. WWF’s mission is to stop environmental degradation and build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and waste.

Cátia Nunes_ANP
Cátia Nunes

Has a degree in Marine Biology from UAlg, a master’s degree in Marine Ecology from FCUL and is currently studying for a master’s degree in Education and Society at ISCTE. She has been part of the ANP|WWF team since 2018, focusing mainly on participatory processes, community involvement and facilitation methodologies and techniques. In 2019 she created the ANP|WWF Environmental Education Program. She is one of the European leaders for education in WWF’s global network and manages several projects in the field, while also being responsible for co-creating Generation Earth (GE) Portugal youth leadership program.

Madalena Lopes_ANP
Madalena Lopes

Has a degree in Biology from FCUL and is studying for a Master’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies at ISCTE. In 2021, she had contact with Environmental Education through her work at the Lisbon Zoo and was part of the ANP|WWF youth training program, Generation Earth Portugal.
