As part of the European project uBlueTec, which is creating innovative training pathways for the blue economy, Aix-Marseille University organized a five-day summer school in Dinard, France, dedicated to coastal geomorphology. This pilot aimed to immerse Master’s and PhD students in advanced research methodologies addressing marine biology, coastal mobility, and landscape analysis, while testing new educational content developed by the project.
Held at the Centre de Géoécologie Littorale, the workshop combined theoretical sessions with field observations, offering participants a unique opportunity to study the dynamic processes shaping coastal environments. Students explored geomorphological features, assessed vulnerabilities linked to climate change, and practiced techniques for analyzing coastal landscapes. This hands-on approach allowed them to connect scientific theory with real-world challenges, fostering critical thinking and technical expertise.
By bridging academic knowledge with practical experience, this piloting reflects uBlueTec’s mission to prepare future professionals for careers that integrate sustainability, technology, and resilience in marine and coastal systems.
